About Chile
With breathtaking scenery, abundant natural resources, a strong economy and a diverse cultural heritage, Chile is a magical land.
Located along the southern Pacific Coast of South America, Chile has more than 2,600 miles of coastline and stretches from the dry plains of the Atacama Desert in the north, to the cold mountains of Patagonia in the south.
Santiago, Chile’s modern capital, is located near the mid-point of the country at feet of the soaring Andes Mountains. Copper and other minerals mined from northern Chile are used to make critical components of electronics. Central Chile includes one of the most fertile regions of world and is famous for its abundant harvests of fruit, berries, produce and wine.
Salmon farming is conducted in the isolated cold water fjords of southern Chile.
