Salmones Blumar SA launched a U.S. subsidiary company in October 2011. This company, called Blumar USA, was created to help directly serve Blumar’s customers in the U.S. and Canada. Blumar USA expanded Blumar’s share of the fresh and frozen salmon markets to include many of the country’s top supermarket and restaurant chains as well the seafood distributors and broadliners that service these accounts.
In 2015, to increase the volume and stability of supply, Blumar USA began representing Ventisqueros SA in North America. Ventisqueros SA, one of Chile’s oldest and most respected salmon producers, did not have a North American office of its own.
Incorporated in November 2016, BluGlacier LLC is jointly owned by Blumar SA and Ventisqueros SA. This new corporate entity formalizes the relationship between the two companies and streamlines management of inventories and accounting operations.
Use of the BluGlacier brand ensures a more consistent customer experience because the brand is packed to unified specifications and to high levels of food safety and sustainability certification.
